There’s usually more to the story.

Project management is about more than deadlines. It’s about creating enough structure for people to do good work without making the work harder than it needs to be.

Planning matters. Accountability matters. So does knowing when a process is helping—and when it’s getting in the way.

And yes, I ask a lot of questions.
It’s how I get the full story: what’s actually happening, what’s getting missed, and whether what looks like the problem is really the problem. Sometimes the answer is a small adjustment. Sometimes it means trying something new.

Either way, good plans tend to come from understanding what’s really going on.

My experience spans schools, industry associations, nonprofits, and businesses, in both team and contractor roles. Different environments have taught me to adapt without losing sight of the basics: support the people doing the work, keep things manageable, and create enough clarity for teams to make confident decisions and take pride in what they deliver.

Why the name backpocket ACE?

The name came from a nickname I was given in a previous role.
I was the person people could come to when something needed figuring out.
Not because I always had the answer in my back pocket, but because I listen, connect the pieces, and help work out what was needed.
